by Sandy Kowallis
Opens May 13 – July 5, 2016
Arthop/Reception, May 19, 5-8pm.
Whether working en plein aire or in the studio, Sandy is always drawn to water as a subject. The life of water in its ever- changing forms and patterns fascinate her. Although she often paints water and seascapes in loose watercolor or oil, more and more her work seeks the beautiful abstract patterns found in the natural elements.

Originally from Idaho, Sandy Kowallis has lived in Central California for most of her adult life. Her art education began at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art, formerly an accredited commercial art school.
Most of her career in Fresno and Clovis was in advertising, where she worked in account management, writing, and illustrating for many years. In retirement, she lives in the foothills east of Clovis and concentrates on fine art. Known more widely for watercolor, she has moved more recently into oil on canvas.
